Blurb:

How long did it take you to find your place in the world?

For Ethan Walker, going through the motions of life, keeping his distance and never getting attached has become the mantra he lives by. Success is measured by how many hours he can work and how little attention he can draw. That was until he landed on Beau Bennett’s radar. Until Beau, Ethan had never met a man who could get him to question his own logic and even consider taking a different path.

Beau Bennett knows exactly who he is – now. It might’ve taken him some time to figure it out, but now that he has his bearings, Beau has set his sights on the mysteriously sexy Ethan Walker. Pursuing someone has never been his style, but something is telling him to keep at it because the end result is going to be worth it.

Now that they’ve found one another, how long will it take Ethan and Beau to accept that their place in the world is… Together?

I have been eagerly anticipating this book for quite awhile now, an M/M book by one of my favorite authors, I was actually counting down to the release date.  The minute I received it on my Kindle I tore into it  and refused to put it down til I finished it.  I can now say this is by far my favorite book not only in this series but by Nicole Edwards.  I absolutely loved it!

While I’ve enjoyed all of the books in the Alluring Indulgence series I think what made this one stand out the most for me was the chance to really delve into an emotional story.  There was more of a connection to the characters for me than in previous books, I actually really wanted to know what made both Ethan and Beau tick.  It wasn’t just about the H.A.W.T sex in this one (not that it was lacking, this is Nicole Edwards we’re talking about) but I really felt the attraction from both characters as well as a deeper connection.

Ethan is by far my favorite of the Walker boys and I absolutely love Beau. I want more of them, I feel as if I will have to read this one again soon just to get my Ethan/Beau fix.  Even if you are not a fan of M/M I think you’ll enjoy Ethan, and while this book can be read as a standalone I highly recommend reading the series from the beginning.

Alpha Biker Heroes

Kristen Ashley just continues to make me swoon with her pantie melting, super alpha, hot men she writes about.  A few years ago if you would have told me that I would dream about throwing my leg over the back of a Harley and wrapping my arms tightly around a sexy member of a Motorcycle Club I would have laughed in your face.  Somehow though reading these books I find myself picturing myself as an “Old Lady”.  Between Tack, Shy and now Hop I am firmly ensconced in the world of Chaos Motorcycle Club, jealous of Tyra, Tabby and now Lainie.  Please Ms. Ashley keep bringing us these fabulous stories!

♨Release Date: June 4, 2013!♨

Fir Inside (A Chaos Novel)

Fire Inside

By Kristen Ashley

★★★★1/2

Lanie Heron is absolutely the last person that Hopper Kincaid–Chaos MC Lieutenant–should take to his bed but he can’t resist when she approaches him and asks for “just one night”.  Lanie is all class and sophistication.  She’s also haunted–nearly being killed for standing by your  fiancé will do that to you.   Hop knows he should say no but he can’t.  Soon one night becomes more and Hop realizes that there is a lot more to Lanie than he originally thought.

“Not sure that’s a good idea, Lanie,” he told her, gentling his voice as he gave her the honesty.

“Why?” she asked immediately, and he felt his eyes narrow on her before he answered.

“Maybe ’cause you’re best friends with Tack’s old lady. I respect him, I respect her, and shit like this, babe, it gets complicated. Any complication sucks but a complication like this—” he shook his head “— no one needs that.”

She threw out a hand and declared casually, “It won’t get complicated.”

“I’ve thought on it and decided it’s you.” Her hands at his neck gave him a squeeze and fuck him, fuck him, that moved him even more. “I understand why you don’t want to, but I promise, Hop, I swear, no kidding, seriously, no strings. No expectations. Just us. One night. Tomorrow, it will be like it’s always been. Like it didn’t even happen. I promise, Hop. Swear.”

Lanie is amazed at how much she enjoys being with Hopper Kincaid.  He’s different than what she’s used to.  Hopper has the ability to destroy her and there is no way she can allow that to happen.  She’s broken and scared, not to mention she can’t stop thinking about how she almost died and why.  Lanie has vowed to never put herself through that again and that means not allowing any man in again even if he is a sexy, smooth talking biker she can’t seem to resist.  Being with Hop can’t last, no matter what she has to keep him at a distance.

“You know my story,” she whispered. “You think I want another guy?” She paused then finished with emphasis, “Ever?”

The more Lanie fights it the more Hop has to prove to her that they were made for each other.  He will do anything to show Lanie she is worth it and he can help her heal.  It won’t be easy putting her heart back together and healing in her what threatens to destroy her but Hop is confident he can do it.

“I said just one night,” she reminded him.

“And I said I wasn’t done with you,” he fired back.

Unfortunately Lanie will do everything she can to not allow Hop to steal her heart and give her his at the same time.  There are only so many times she can push him away before he realizes that he’s fighting a losing battle.  Will he ever be able to get Lanie to completely trust him or is she too far gone?

250px-Dead_rising_Motorcycle

To be honest I was not at all impressed with Hop in the previous books he appeared in.  I disliked his character in Motorcycle Man and as for Own the Wind I really didn’t give him much thought at all.  By page 10 in Fire Inside I was completely in love with Hopper Kincaid.  He was redeemed in my eyes and I have to say he gave some serious competition to Shy who has remained my favorite of all the Kristen Ashley men.  I could seriously see myself drooling over Hopper.

What makes me love his character so much?  It’s simple, he is strong, intense, domineering in that way that makes you shiver when reading any of these books.  Hopper is also sweet and sincere and the type of man who shows the woman he is with a side of himself you would never expect but crave.  He’s protective and truly wants to help Lanie not only to open up and let him in but to also trust herself again.  He wants her to let her past go and to live, which also means he wants her to be able to let everyone, not just him back into her life.

“Hop is willing to do anything to make his woman happy. He’d walk a tightrope with no net if she was on the other side, cheering him on. And he just proved what we already knew, and he did that in a big way.”-Shy (From Own the Wind)

Lanie has some hurts that can’t just be healed with a few sweet caring words.  She has demons that need someone who can have an objective outlook to help her conquer them. She is classy and sophisticated with a smidgen of crazy (the good kind) thrown in.  She has drama–most of which Hop finds amusing–but you can’t help but find her funny and endearing.  She may not always see it but she has an innate strength as well.  There are times that Lanie makes me mad and frustrates me but I definitely like her character and won’t mind seeing more of her throughout the series.

“…Lanie is beautiful but she’s a fuckin’ nut. There’s no guarantees with her in the mix, and Hop’s not sayin’ it, but he’s gone for her. I caught sight of them late one night standin’ by his bike and I can’t say I’m an expert at readin’ bitches but, body language, she’s gone for him too. Cherry or Tack get in his face, Cherry butts up against Lanie, there’s gonna be fireworks.”-Shy (From Own the Wind)

If you’re a fan of Kristen Ashley, if you love books about Sexy Bikers and the women that manage to steal their hearts or you just love stories about love and redemption, you will fall in love with this book.  The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the fact that we only got brief glimpses of Shy, I could have used a little more of him *wink*.  Other than that Fire Inside is a definite must read!

The Love Game

The Love Game By Emma Hart ★★★★☆
The Love Game
By Emma Hart
★★★★☆

A New York Times and USA Today bestseller!

His challenge? Make her fall in love with him.
Her challenge? Play the player.
Until life changes the rules of the game.

Maddie Stevens hated Braden Carter on sight. Arrogant, egotistical, and the playboy of the University of California, Berkeley, he’s everything her brother Pearce has taught her to despise. So why, when the girls challenge her to play the player, doesn’t she say no? She doesn’t know either.

A Player

Braden wanted fiery little Maddie the second he laid eyes on her – and he’d do anything to have her, hence why he’s agreed to make her fall in love with him. After all, it’s the only way he’ll get what he wants. Sex.

A Game

But, as Braden discovers, there’s more to the girl from Brooklyn than he ever imagined – and he can’t help but care about the broken girl behind those pretty green eyes.

Maddie finds Braden isn’t just a walking erection – he actually has feelings. He can be sweet, funny and his good looks don’t exactly hurt. That means trouble – but when her brother Pearce turns up in Berkeley begging for her help, she realises Braden and Pearce aren’t so alike anymore.

And maybe, just maybe, they’re exactly what each other needs.

Braden and Maddie

So I am going to have to give this one 4 stars!  This was a fun read.  I can not wait for more from this series!

Kristen Ashley At Her Best!

My Feelings!

This may very well be my favorite Kristen Ashley book to date.  I absolutely love, L-O-V-E, love this book!  I am completely, 100%, in love with Parker “Shy” Cage.  I also have to say that Tabby is one of the very few Kristen Ashley Heroine’s that I find myself loving—actually finding a real connection with—which makes the chemistry between her and Shy even better.  Own the Wind has definitely made me an even bigger fan of Kristen Ashley, if that’s actually possible.

Own The Wind (Chaos #1)
By Kristen Ashley
★★★★★

Blurb:

Tabitha Allen has a not-so-secret crush on Parker “Shy” Cage. Shy thinks he knows the path Tabby’s on and it isn’t a good one. So he decides to teach her a lesson to lead her to the right path.

Unfortunately, he was wrong and his actions wound Tabby, breaking her heart. It’s Tabby who then teaches Shy a lesson about casting judgment and Shy Cage learns what it feels like to be invisible. But when tragedy strikes and Tabby’s heart is broken again, Shy does what he can in the background to help. Trying to forget her heartbreak, Tabby finds herself in danger. To keep it secret from her biker family, the Chaos Motorcycle Club, she calls Shy to rescue her. But when she lets him back in, she gets much more than she bargained for.

This story is so many things that we have grown accustomed to when we read a Kristen Ashley book.  Obviously we have the strong Alpha male who has the ability to make you swoon.  The quirky, sassy and beautiful female that you wished was part of your posse.  The romance, the sexy and scorching sex and that ever present drama that all of her characters must overcome.  Sometimes that drama is over the top, sometimes it’s funny and ever once in a while it is absolutely heartbreaking of course no matter how you would classify it Kristen Ashley has a way of capturing your attention.

For me at least, with Shy I finally felt as if Ms. Ashley had developed a character I could actually see myself truly falling for in real life.  Now that is not to say I don’t love most of the men in her books, they are all hot and swoon worthy in their own way, however Shy had a “sweetness” a “sincerity” to him that I think surpassed almost all of her other men and seeing as he is in a Motorcycle Club that just sealed the deal right there.

“I’m with him because when I’m with him, I’m free to be me. I’m with him because he’s hot. I’m with him because he lets me blather, since I’m prone to blathering, and he lets me rant when I have a bad day. I’m with him because when I rant, he makes me feel better and he does this effortlessly. I’m with him because I live for the times when I’m on the back of his bike and we’re riding together, not even talking, just being free.” -Tabby

As for Tabby, she was strong, independent, funny and had the ability to stand up to Shy when needed and prove she could make a life for herself.  I loved this about her.  I loved that she had backbone yet she wasn’t hard even after growing up in the lifestyle they lived.

“I had you up against the headboard, baby, but that was not fucking and it came natural. It’s what we have. I didn’t know that’s what I’d get but I’m pleased as fuck you gave it to me. That alone answers your why when it comes to the us part. As for why it’s you, I don’t know, I don’t care. It just is. It could be ’cause you’re gorgeous. It could be ’cause you’re funny. It could be ’cause I like the way you handled Pete when he lost his daughter. It could be ’cause you and me got Chaos in common, it’s us, it’s in our blood and this was meant to be. It could be ’cause I like the way you are with your family. It could be ’cause you get off on bein’ on the back of my bike almost as much as I get off straddling it. I figure it’s all that and more. I am not gonna analyze it. I’m gonna feel it ’cause I like it and that’s all there is to it.” – Shy

Together Tabby and Shy are a great couple that I can’t wait to see more of.

“May feel like you’re fallin’, Tabby, but remember, I’m at the bottom ready to catch you.”-Shy

Woo Hoo It’s Here! Walking Disaster

Walking Disaster
Walking Disaster
By Jamie McGuire
★★★★★

“Our story might have been typical: Bad boy falls for good girl, but Abby was no princess. She was hiding something.”

If you have read Beautiful Disaster (If not I highly recommend it to get the full understanding of the story) then you know how they met, how they became friends and how they fell in love.  Abby told us all but now it’s time for Travis to tell us.  It’s his story now…

Travis Maddox is not only the quintessential Bad boy, he’s practically a legend. He’s slept with half of the female population at Eastern.  He rides a Harley and fights in underground arenas for money.  Everything about him screams heartbreak.

Abby Abernathy is all Good girl on the outside, fresh out of Kansas.  But Travis can tell from the minute he sees her in her cardigan and pearls that this girl is a lot more underneath it all.  She has an attitude and she’s a lot tougher than most would think.

Unlike most girls that meet Travis she has absolutely no desire to sleep with him.  What first is seen as a challenge by Travis quickly becomes a lot more.  Travis needs Abby to stick around, he’s never wanted to be friends with a girl before but with Abby he finally sees how important it is for her to be in his life. The more time he spends with her the more he falls for her.

“I decided a long time ago I would feed on the vultures until a dove came along.  A pigeon.  The kind of soul that didn’t impede on anyone; just walked around worrying about it’s own business, trying to get through life without pulling everyone else down with its own needs and selfish habits.  Brave.  A communicator.  Intelligent.  Beautiful.  Soft-spoken.  A creature that mates for life.  Unattainable until she has reason to trust you.” – Travis

Abby however can’t let herself think of Travis as more than a friend.  She has come to Eastern to get away from her old life.  She wants nothing to do with the one guy that reminds her too much of her past.  But no matter how hard Abby tries to keep things in the “just friends” category between her and Travis she can’t deny the pull she feels towards him.

“…The fighting, the gambling, the drinking…it’s what I left behind.  When I’m around you it’s all right there for me in an irresistible, tattooed package.  I didn’t move hundreds of miles away to live it all over again.” -Abby

Travis can’t stop trying to get closer to Abby even if he knows she’s too good for  him.  No matter how hard he tries he can’t live without her, she makes him a better person.  No one can understand it but everyone can see the changes since Abby has come into Travis’s life.  If only Travis could prove to Abby that they belong together.

First they will have to get past his reputation and then they will have to face Abby’s past.

“When we first met, something inside both of us had changed, and whatever that was, it made us need each other.  For reasons unknown to me, I was his exception, and as much as i had tried to fight my feelings, he was mine.” -Abby (From Beautiful Disaster)

I am going to be honest, I thinks I did a 5 minute happy dance when I received a copy of this book.

I haven’t been this anxious to read a book in I have no idea how long so it completely made my day.  As a huge fan of the first one I was almost desperate to get my hands on this one and I was not at all disappointed.

Getting inside the mind of Travis Maddox was a great way to really get an understanding for the story.  There have been a lot of people out there that have questioned whether or not this book was an example of glorifying a destructive relationship. Although I never looked at it that way I have to admit that I could see why certain people may have thought that way.  This story is not all hearts and roses, the characters are not without faults and their relationship had been volatile and tumultuous from the get go.  However with this look into Travis a lot more of the reasons for his behavior are explained and we are able to see that he is slowly yet steadily changing, maturing and learning as they go along.

This book is a great followup to Beautiful Disaster.  Each book essentially tells us the same story however in each unique voice we get something new and exciting.  I am a huge fan of Jamie McGuire and Beautiful Disaster has been one of my favorite books, now Walking Disaster has been placed on that list as well.

Jamie McGuire is an excellent author with a great voice. This is the type of book you can read over and over and never grow tired of. I’ve read beautiful Disaster at least a dozen times and am always able to get something different out of it and I am confident that it will be the same with Walking Disaster.

Kristen Ashley’s Latest Hit!

Raid (Unfinished Hero Book 3)
By Kristen Ashley
★★★★1/2

As a huge Kristen Ashley fan I was extremely excited at the release of her latest book Raid in her Unfinished Heroes series.  The funny thing is that I have not actually read the first two books Knight and Creed though they have been on my Kindle for quite a while and I keep trying to get to them.  I figured I would sit down this week and go ahead and read them and then I would be able to get to Raid which sounded great.  I happened to request it on Lendle thinking it would be a while until I got it but to my surprise I received it right away, so I said to heck with it and just went ahead and read it.  Now I can not wait to go back to the first two books and start reading.

Raid was a wonderful combination of the classic KA sexy Alpha male, a sassy yet sweet heroine, romance, sex, humor and of course issues and struggles in which the main characters find themselves dealing with. The Mc’s Hanna and Raid were extremely loveable and I found myself smiling throughout most of the book.  Of course it was also a plus that there were such funny and charming side characters as well, from the 98 year old great-grandmother to the spunky younger sister all the characters were fun.

I absolutely love Hanna and honestly found myself being able to relate to her more than any of the other heroines in Ms. Ashley’s previous books.  She was sweet, down to earth, strong yet still vulnerable and frankly just a goof.  Hanna pretty much charmed me from the very first page.

As for Raiden Ulysses Miller well it is always great to get a taste of these strong larger than life men who put both the “A” in alpha and the “Sex” in sexy.  I definitely wish I were Hanna and could wake up to him every morning.  Raiden may actually go on or near the top of the list of my favorite Kristen Ashley men.  He’s up there with Hank Nightingale from the Rock Chick series, Joe Callahan from the ‘Burg series, Tatum Jackson of Colorado Mountain series and Brock Lucas from Dream Man series (not that I don’t love almost all of the men from Kristen Ashley’s world).

I’m not sure if it is truly necessary to read Knight and Creed first before delving into to Raid although I will admit it would probably be a good idea to do so but if not it will in no way detract from the story.  Like most of these books throughout the different series by Ms. Ashley you get a glimpse of characters from previous books even if they are from a completely different series which is always a treat.  All of these worlds seem to cross over or intermingle with each other at some point in time, so even when you’ve moved from one series to the next you are always kept somewhat in all of their worlds.

When I see Hanna, I see:

Pink Schwinnpoloroid

When I See Raid, I see:

Beautiful Disaster

Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! I Love This Book!

A lot of people are comparing Jamie McGuire’s Beautiful Disaster to Fifty Shades of Grey, the New Adult version. If that is what you are looking for I have to warn you the only things this book has in common with Fifty Shades is the unobtainable “Bad Boy” who falls hard for the “Good Girl”. Now this is not a new story, Good Girl/Bad Boy fall in love but it is a great story.

Abby Abernathy just wants a different life now that she’s not in Kansas anymore. In college she can start over without anyone knowing about her past, her father and Vegas. She’s a good girl and she wants a good guy.

Then Abby tags along with her best friend America and America’s boyfriend Shepley to an underground fight and comes face to face with the campus bad boy, Travis Maddox. He is everything she plans to avoid. He’s cocky, dangerous and a womanizer. The last thing she’s going to do is sleep with him.

Travis Maddox has never had a problem getting women, they throw themselves at him. When he meets Abby she turns his world upside down. For the first time in his life a woman doesn’t want anything to do with him and he can’t seem to stay away from her. Travis is determined to be friends with Abby, he has to be near her. Quickly the two form a friendship that has everyone talking.

When a bet between Abby and Travis leads Abby to living with Travis and his cousin Shepley they become even closer. Abby realizes there is a whole different side to Travis Maddox and Travis realizes Abby is the most important thing in his life. Too bad Abby only wants to be friends.

I know that this book should make me mad because Abby and Travis’ relationship is as the character Kara states a “disaster”. It’s really not all that healthy, the back and forth, the aggression etc… but the truth is I loved this book. I have read it a couple of times and it is sort of a guilty pleasure of mine.

Take It Off by L.A. Witt

WOW, Hot! Hot! Hot! I just liked the first one, Quid Pro Quo. I loved the second one, Take It Off!

We are once again given a glimpse into the world of the Market with Tristan and Jared as they a reunited with “Rolex” the man who started it all for them as a duo. Ever since that first time with him Jared and Tristan have been working together as a team for various John’s. In that time Tristan has found his attraction for Jared grow larger and now he has a plan to seduce him in hopes that they can expand from just a professional relationship into something more personal.

Jared has always had a little crush on Tristan and now he sees his chance to turn the tables on him for a change. After all turnabout is fair play right?

Club Destiny Series by Nicole Edwards

Conviction (Club Destiny, #1)Conviction by Nicole Edwards

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It’s a funny thing, I read book two and really enjoyed it. It left me having no intention on reading this one since I basically knew what happened. I just didn’t see the point in it. However I got Conviction on Lendle and decided why not? I had wondered about the scene with Sam, Logan, Luke and Cole that had been brought up so many times in Temptation so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to actually read it and figure out what all the fuss was about. Holy Hell! I am so glad I did.

This book is hot! H.O.T! The scene with the four of them was great. In a lot of ways I think it may have been hotter than the 2nd one although I loved Temptation. I can’t wait to read the third one which I will probably start tonight, I really hope there are going to be more after that.

Pros:
Hot Alpha Males, Hot Sexy Menage Scenes and a Romantic First Date (That of course turns steamy).

Cons:
Not Enough Luke and Cole (of course that is rectified in book two)

Temptation (Club Destiny, #2)Temptation by Nicole Edwards

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was definitely hot!

Pros:
The Guys are hot!
The sex is hot!
Introductions of characters I would love to read about later on.
Great Alpha/Dominate males w/o getting into BDSM

Cons:
(Never thought I would say this but…) Too Much Angst!
Too much back and forth
Repeats things a little too much.

Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

Beautiful Disaster told in Travis point of view.

How much is too much to love?

Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.

In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. Just when he thought he was invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.

Every story has two sides. In Jamie McGuire’s New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.
